Happy New Year!

The end of the year holidays have finally come to a close, which means it's time for strike. In the scenic world, that's the word we use for set deconstruction. Just like the build and install, it's an arduous task that requires all hands on deck. It's a little bittersweet to watch all of that work come down. You spend all of that time creating something. Hours and hours of work, strenuous physical labor, and before you know it, it's over and it has to go away. But it's a matter of the biz that you get used to pretty quick.

Still, that's one of the things that's so cool about what we do. It's a fact of life that nothing lasts forever. So many New Year's traditions focus on "letting go" or "seeing off" the old year and looking forward for what's to come. Even though the actual concept of time is arbitrary, we still like to create definitive markers for what is old and new.

Strike is just another way of preparing for what's to come. We deconstruct what was for future creations, but that doesn't erase the hard work that went into the past or the experiences that it led to. And we've got a lot to look forward to!

We hope you'll stay tuned for all the exciting things to come in 2022!
